Beach Bays Cottage, situated on Bowers Bay in Parry Sound, Ontario, overlooks Robertson Island in Georgian Bay, an eastern part of Lake Huron. The untouched site featured natural granite veins of the Canadian Shield and offered stunning western views, inspiring a design that would frame these vistas. The cottage was envisioned to extend along the shoreline, providing lake views from every room and blending seamlessly with its surroundings.

The design of Beach Bays Cottage incorporated muted earth tones and expansive glass walls, allowing the structure to meld with the natural landscape. The architecture sought to rise from the bedrock, creating a harmonious relationship with the environment. Excavation of granite was necessary, and the stone was repurposed as building material, grounding the cottage in its setting.

The final structure stands as a testament to thoughtful design and respect for the natural world, offering a serene retreat that celebrates its surroundings.
